Rhinelander, WI — Niina Baum, a Republican candidate for Wisconsin’s 7th Congressional District, announced today that her campaign has officially launched grassroots fundraising — alongside a public pledge to refuse contributions from corporate PACs funded by corporate treasury money.
Baum is currently the first Republican candidate in the race thus far to publicly make such a commitment.
“I’m running to represent the people of Wisconsin’s 7th District,” Baum said. “Choosing not to accept corporate PAC money is about accountability. I want voters to know exactly who this campaign answers to — and it’s them.”
Baum emphasized that her campaign will be supported by individual donors and values-based organizations. She said the decision reflects her broader approach to governance: listening first, weighing facts, and making decisions based on what best serves the district — not what benefits special interests.
“This is about setting a standard for how I believe representation should work.” Baum added.
Baum, a Northwoods native and small business owner, entered the race earlier this year as a moderate Republican offering an alternative to political extremism. Her campaign is focused on issues including local control, rural housing, healthcare access, workforce development, support for small farms, food stability, and responsible oversight/regulation of large-scale development projects such as AI data centers.
